    The Scott Scholars Program provides a renewable award in the amount of tuition and fees available to incoming students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through NMC’s traditional nursing program. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

    The Becker Presidential Scholarship provides an award of $9,000 a year for 4 years to a first-time first-year student seeking a bachelor's degree. Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. 

    In order to renew, the recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.

    Jobs for America's Graduates LPN Scholarship

    The Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Scholarship provides a full-tuition scholarship for the practical nursing certificate to selected applicants who have completed the JAG program.

    To be considered for the 2025 Jobs for America’s Graduates LPN Scholarship, please ensure both your LPN program application and scholarship application are completed.

    Please develop a thoughtful and organized personal statement outlining your career goals in healthcare, evidenced by coursework, extracurricular activities, or volunteer work related to healthcare. Describe your active engagement in JAG initiatives, such as career workshops, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Respond to the questions below.

    Kathleen Montgomery Memorial ABSN Scholarship

    The Kathleen Montgomery Memorial ABSN Scholarship provides an award of $7,500 for the 12 months of the program. A selected number of scholarships will be awarded each year to ABSN applicants who demonstrate academic merit or financial need (as determined by the FAFSA application).

    Nebraska Career Scholarship

    The Nebraska Career Scholarship is a collaboration between the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education and eligible Nebraska postsecondary institutions. This program provides scholarships to students pursuing degrees in programs of study leading to high wage, high skill and high demand careers. The objective is to increase the skilled workforce in fields where Nebraska has a shortage. 
     
    Funding of the Nebraska Career Scholarship is based on state allocations. Recipients will be selected once the College is notified of allocation amounts, this can take place as late as July.
     
    Eligibility Criteria:
    • ACT score of 18 or higher - or - minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale 
    • Must not have previously earned a postsecondary credential
    • Must live in Nebraska while receiving the scholarship
    • NMC considers financial need, so must have a FAFSA application on file by March 1

    Steve Mendenhall, RRT Memorial Scholarship

    The Steve Mendenhall, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Memorial Scholarship offers renewable awards to respiratory therapy students, focusing on those committed to working in rural Nebraska. It’s available to students in NMC’s Associate of Science in Respiratory Care program or the 3+1 respiratory therapy program with partnering institutions.

    Key Details:

    • Summer Deadline: April 24, 2026
    • Fall Deadline: July 10, 2026

    Scholarship Award:

    • 3+1 Program: $8,000 per term for three terms (summer, fall and spring).
    • Associate Program:
      • Full-time students: $4,000 per term
      • Part-time students: $2,000 per term
        (Maximum award of $24,000 total)

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Minimum 2.5 GPA.

    Employee, Spouse, Dependent Discount Program

    Employees of Methodist Health System may be eligible for a 20% tuition discount for certain academic degree and certificate programs at Nebraska Methodist College (NMC). This discount may also be extended to employee’s legal spouse and eligible children. Courses taken for audit, continuing education, professional education are not eligible. The discount applies to tuition only.

    The HOSA Leadership Scholarship provides a one-time award of $1,000 for active members of a high school HOSA chapter. Verification required.

    Scholarship Essay Prompt

    Please develop a thoughtful and organized personal statement outlining your career goals in healthcare, evidenced by coursework, extracurricular activities, or volunteer work related to healthcare. Describe your active engagement in JAG initiatives, such as career workshops, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Respond to the questions below.

    Be sure to include your first name and last name on the document itself.  Your essay should be attached to your electronic scholarship application form.

    Prioritize Financial Need

    Priority will be given to students with demonstrated financial need, ensuring support for those who might otherwise be unable to afford further education. Applicants must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered.

    NMC Legacy Grant

    The NMC Legacy Grant provides a one-time award of $2,000 to the following:
     
    • Graduates of an NMC degree program
    • Siblings of a current NMC student
    • Sibling, spouse, or dependent child of an alumnus of Nebraska Methodist College.
     
    Scholarship funding is limited and distributed based upon deposit date. All students must pay a deposit fee to be eligible.

    The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship provides a one-time award of $1,000 for initiated PTK members. Documentation of membership is required.

    Ruth Freed Leadership Scholarship

    Benefit: A $9,000 scholarship for Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital, Methodist Physicians Clinic, Methodist Jennie Edmundson, and Methodist Fremont Health registered nurses seeking a Masters or Doctorate (DNP, PhD or EDD) degree, and scheduled to work 20 hours per week for the past two years.

    Eligibility: Registered Nurses working at Methodist Health System for a minimum of 20 hours per week for the past two years. Continuing interest in Methodist Health System and the nursing profession.

    Selection criteria include patient focus, honor and respect, excellence, teamwork, and service to community.

    Deadline: Online applications available January through March for the upcoming academic year. Applications are due at the beginning of April. Scholarship recipients will be notified in May.

    Tuition Assistance Program

    The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) provides up to $2,000 a year for employees who have worked at least six months, at a minimum of 16 hours per week prior to the beginning of the semester or term. The actual amount is limited to tuition costs of a course or degree program that is directly related to the employee's current position or promotion within MHS.

    Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program
    The scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents, spouses or employees from participating CIC colleges and universities. Please contact the TEP Liaison at your home institution for more information. 

    National Tuition Exchange Program
    This scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the National Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents of employees from other participating colleges and universities.     United Methodist Church Member Award

    The Youth Salute Scholarship provides a $1,000 award per academic year up to 4 years for Youth Salute Awardees. Verification required.

    Academy Programs

    The Methodist Health System Academy Program provides tuition coverage for MHS employees enrolled in specific programs (see below). This coverage is specifically designated for tuition and does not include funding for textbooks or any other associated fees. In exchange for coverage, employees must agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the Eligibility Guidelines.

    MHS offers the Academy Program to employees upon acceptance to Nebraska Methodist College, completion of Academy selection form, approval through Human Resources and as Academy funding is available.

    NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program

    The NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program, administered by HRSA, is available for registered nurses (RNs), advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), and nursing faculty.

    Applicants must work full-time in an eligible Critical Shortage Facility in a high need area, or in an accredited school of nursing.

    NURSE Corps Scholarship Program

    The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program, administered by HRSA, is available to students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate nursing program.

    The scholarship assists with tuition, fees and other educational costs; in exchange, the recipient must work at an eligible facility upon graduation.

    Award amounts range from $2,000 to $5,000. The NMC Financial Aid Office distributes information about these opportunities when the application cycle opens.
