The Carolyn Scott Scholars Program provides a renewable award in the full amount of tuition and fees available to new students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Interested BSN students must apply for the scholarship by the posted deadline of February 6, 2027. Students interested in applying for the Scott Scholars Program must:
- Be admitted to the College by the posted scholarship application deadline
- Complete the Carolyn Scott Scholars Program Application
- Submit the required essay in response to the posted writing prompt
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
- Success in previous math and science coursework
- Candidates may be first-time freshman or transfer students with at least 3 years (6 semesters) remaining to complete the BSN

Please answer each question below. Responses per question should be between 300-350 words. Applicants are encouraged to provide examples to support responses when appropriate. Please submit essay as a DOCX or PDF file.
- Please describe a leadership and/or volunteer activity that has had the biggest impact on you and why.
- Please write about your desire to become a nurse and why you feel you are deserving of the Scott Scholarship.
- How have you demonstrated leadership, caring qualities, and been a role model amongst your peers? How will you continue to demonstrate these critical behaviors throughout your time at NMC and as you enter the profession of nursing?

- Place your first and last name in the header of your file.
- Include the question number and question above each of your responses.
- Use APA writing format
- Save your file as: SCHOLARSHIP NAME_FIRST NAME_LAST NAME_DATE
