NMC Scholarships

Nebraska Methodist College assists students by providing the following types of scholarships:

  • Upfront Merit Scholarships - based soley on previous academic performance. Please note: All available Upfront Merit scholarships for the Fall 2016 term have been awarded  
  • Academic and Leadership Scholarships — based on academic performance, leadership potential demonstrated by participation in activities outside the academic setting and service to the community (separate application required). Please note: All available Academic and Leadership scholarships for the Fall 2016 term have been awarded


First-Year Students Upfront Merit Scholarships

Upfront Merit Scholarships Criteria for First-Time First-Year Students

Scholarship Amount ACT Score HS GPA (based on a 4.0 scale)
$4,000 per year >= 25 >= 3.20
$3,000 per year >= 22 >= 3.00
$2,000 per year >= 20 >= 2.75

Students must meet both ACT score and high school GPA criteria to be eligible for an upfront merit scholarship.

Scholarship funding is limited and distributed based upon deposit date and FAFSA filing date. All students must complete a FAFSA and pay a deposit fee to be eligible.

Transfer Students Upfront Merit Scholarships

Accelerated Nursing (ACE) Students Upfront Merit Scholarships

Upfront Merit Scholarships Criteria for Accelerated Nursing (ACE) Students

Scholarship Amount (for total program) Cumulative College GPA (based on a 4.0 scale)
$4,500 >= 3.5
$3,000 >= 3.2
$2,250 >= 3.0

All students must complete a FAFSA and pay a deposit fee to be eligible.

Scholarship funding is limited and distributed based upon deposit date and FAFSA filing date.

Becker Presidential Scholarship

The Becker Presidential Scholarship provides an award of $8,000 a year for 4 years to a first-time first-year student seeking a bachelor's degree.

This scholarship has requirements of campus leadership and service. An interview is required.

In order to renew, the recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and assume a leadership role on campus. Required participation in campus events and NMC Leadership Institute. Replaces other incoming institutional merit awards.

Must meet both criteria to apply:

  • GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • ACT composite score of at least 24

Wischmeier Dean's Scholarship

The Wischmeier Dean's Scholarship provides an award of $5,000 a year for 4 years to a first-time first-year student seeking a bachelor's degree in nursing.

This scholarship has requirements of campus leadership and service.

In order to renew, the recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and assume a leadership role on campus. Required participation in campus events and NMC Leadership Institute. 

Replaces other incoming institutional merit awards.

Must meet both criteria to apply:

  • GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • ACT composite score of at least 24

Excellence In Allied Health Scholarship

The Excellence in Allied Health Scholarship provides an award of $6,000 a year for 2 years to a first-time first-year student seeking an associate's degree in an allied health field.

This scholarship has requirements of campus leadership and service.

In order to renew, the recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and assume a leadership role on campus. Requires participation in campus events and NMC Leadership Institute. 

Replaces other incoming institutional merit awards.

Must meet both criteria to apply:

  • GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • ACT composite score of at least 24

Kathleen Montgomery Memorial ACE Scholarship

The Kathleen Montgomery Memorial ACE Scholarship provides an award of $6,000 for one year. A selected and equal number of scholarships will be awarded each year to ACE applicants who demonstrate academic merit or financial need (as determined by the FAFSA application). The awards will be made by Oct. 1 each year.

Tuition Exchange

Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program
The scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents, spouses or employees from participating CIC colleges and universities. Please contact the TEP Liaison at your home institution for more information.

National Tuition Exchange Program
This scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the National Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents of employees from other participating colleges and universities.
