Dennis Joslin, Ph.D., is the President and CEO of the Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing and Allied Health (NMC). Dr. Joslin began his career in healthcare as a critical care staff nurse at a local hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Joslin later moved into teaching and became a faculty member at the Methodist School of Nursing. From 1976 through the present, Joslin has been an instrumental force in forming one of the most recognized accredited healthcare colleges in the region.
Dr. Joslin is the second president of Nebraska Methodist College since 1985 when the school was officially authorized as a degree granting college. Prior to becoming president, Joslin held many positions within the College including Executive Vice-President, Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Dean of Academic Affairs and Director of Curriculum. As Executive VP, Joslin built an academic affairs division from a one diploma-nursing program in 1987 to ten degree-granting academic programs ranging from Associate to Master's degree levels. Joslin also led the school in the planning, creation and coordination of the initial accreditation self study documents and related on-site visits for each specialized accreditation critical to the College's institutional quality and future growth.
Under Joslin's executive stewardship, the College has experienced substantial transformation which includes: establishing the first capital campaign for the College with 100% of goal attained prior to completion of a new school campus, presiding over the construction and opening of a state-of-the-art healthcare college campus, realizing double digit growth in enrollments since 2003, and launching a 'virtual campus' offering certificate and graduate degrees online for healthcare professionals throughout North America.
Dr. Joslin is known for his visionary leadership, academic contributions and his community service. In addition to his presidential oversight of NMC, Dr. Joslin serves as Team Chair and Accreditation Review Council Member of the Higher Learning Commission for the North Central Association, consultant with the Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, vice chair for Nebraska Campus Compact, board member on the American Association of Presidents of Independent Colleges and Universities, member of the American Association for Higher Education, and board member of the Wellness Council of the Midland. Through Dr. Joslin's guidance, Nebraska Methodist College has received the President's Award for Community Service for four consecutive years. Today the College has over 80 active relationships with community groups, agencies and organizations.
