Respiratory Care
Why you want to become a respiratory therapist.
The need for respiratory therapists is growing – and so are the opportunities for your career. Respiratory therapists make great pay and enjoy high job satisfaction as part of the health care team. You’ll make a difference in people’s lives working in home health, medical offices, asthma clinics and hospital settings. You may also choose to work in critical care and emergency settings. You’ll help to diagnose lung and breathing disorders, determine therapies, manage ongoing care and treatments, monitor breathing during surgery, and help to educate patients and their families. What’s more, you’ll have the opportunity to stay on the leading edge of technology, working with sophisticated equipment that aids you in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Why you want to come to Nebraska Methodist College.
At Nebraska Methodist College, our respiratory therapist graduates are in high demand. What’s more, they earn very competitive salaries. And no wonder, our program is an ideal combination of classroom education and clinical experience that allows you to be an integral part of the health care team from your very first day on the job. Our small class size ensures you receive the time and attention you deserve. Our affiliation with other institutions may allow you to transfer credits you’ve already earned. When you’re done, you’re ready to sit for the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) exam, followed by an advanced practitioner exam to earn your Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Then, let Nebraska Methodist College help you to continue to advance in your career with an online bachelor’s degree option in health studies – developed specifically for students majoring in respiratory care.
