We have the courses to help you start your career in Healthcare!

Did you know that you only need to be 16 years old to become a nursing assistant? That an 18 year old can become a Sterile Processing Technician in 6 weeks and then sit for National Certification? That Nebraska Methodist College offers these certificate courses and others that may be just the right fit for you, a family member, or friend?

So far 2018 has been one of the busiest years in the history of certificate courses at NMC. The Nursing Assistant program has over 45 course options in five locations. These courses are perfect for both pre-professional student looking for patient care experience and those looking for meaningful employment.

The Sterile Processing Technician course is slated to be offered four times, allowing up to 32 students to learn about sterile processing and packing. This course is online with six Saturday clinical dates, which makes it doable for those with full-time work or school commitments.

Pharmacy Technician is our newest course to offer a blend of online and in-person learning. Students can choose from an accelerated 9-week course or a 16-week course. Each class includes seven to nine lab classes and 40 hours of externship in a pharmacy.  Students will learn both hospital and retail pharmacy concepts. Our next classes start in August.

Phlebotomy also has several start dates throughout the year with options for an accelerated 5-week or 9-week course. Students learn about collection, transportation, handling, and processing blood and other specimens for medical analysis.

Medical Assistants are currently in short supply, which makes it easy for our new grads to find jobs. In this 12-month certificate program students will attain the knowledge, skills, and training to be successful in a variety of healthcare settings. Applications are accepted throughout the year and the program starts in August.
