MHS Employee Education Benefits
Methodist Health System employees have a number of options to help finance their education at Nebraska Methodist College.

The Methodist Health System Academy Program provides tuition coverage for MHS employees enrolled in specific programs (see below). This coverage is specifically designated for tuition and does not include funding for textbooks or any other associated fees. In exchange for coverage, employees must agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the Eligibility Guidelines.
MHS offers the Academy Program to employees upon acceptance to Nebraska Methodist College, completion of Academy selection form, approval through Human Resources and as Academy funding is available.

To help you manage education expenses while pursuing your career goals, MHS provides tuition assistance. If you are a full-time or part-time staff member scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week, you can apply for tuition assistance after six months of employment. Any degree directly related to your current position or a healthcare position with MHS may be approved. To apply, complete the application by clicking on the form below. You must submit the application prior to starting the course or program. If approved, you will be reimbursed for 100% of your tuition upon completion of the course with a "B" grade or better - up to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year.

Scholarships & Grants
MHS also offers scholarships and grants including the following:
- Carolyn Scott "Spirit of Excellence" Scholarship - up to $5,000 toward tuition, fees and supplies for graduate work. For additional information, contact the Methodist Hospital Foundation, (402) 354-4825 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Employee Development Grant - for up to $1,600 per year toward the tuition cost of a degree or certificate program of study at Nebraska Methodist College. For additional information, contact NMC Admissions at (402) 354-7200 or email@example.com.

MHS offers a variety of continuing education programs on campus and at Nebraska Methodist College. Depending on the program, you may be eligible to participate at no cost or at a discounted cost.
Foundation Certification Program
If you are applying for professional certification, MHS offers financial assistance for testing fees through the Foundation Certification Program.
If you have completed six months of continuous employment at an eligible MHS site and meet all program guidelines, you can apply for this program.
You must apply for the funds prior to your certification testing date. To apply or review the guidelines, visit the Human Resources tab on Lawson.
Dependent Discount Program
The Dependent Discount Program is available to legal dependents of MHS employees and provides a 20% discount of tuition only. The application form is available on the benefits page in the MHS Intranet.
