Background

Dr. Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University and spent 10 years working in human services prior to pursuing a career in nursing. She obtained her BSN with the first accelerated nursing cohort at Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) in 2004. She went on with NMC to achieve her Masters of Science in Nursing Education in 2007 and Doctor of Nursing Practice with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017.

Dr. Anderson initially worked in Labor and Delivery and High Risk Obstetrics for Methodist Hospital before taking on her role as educator. She spent four and a half years as a course faculty member and clinical instructor in the undergraduate BSN program at NMC. She then moved her educator role to the clinical setting, serving as a nurse educator for Methodist Women’s Hospital. During her time in the DNP program, she moved to the pediatric setting working as a RN and educator for Children’s Hospital and Medical Center Home Health Services. She has been an adjunct faculty member in the DNP program at NMC since 2017.

Dr. Anderson currently works full-time as the Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing at Clarkson College. Her roots are deeply connected to Nebraska Methodist College and she enjoys motivating and empowering students to achieve success. She also works part-time as a Nurse Practitioner for a private family practice office in Omaha, NE. She possesses nurse practitioner experience in women's health as well as pediatric urgent care. Outside of her work, she is married with three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys camping, traveling, running and raising autism awareness on behalf of her non-verbal son.

2007- Masters Thesis: Understanding the Effects of Bedrest Among Women Diagnosed with High Risk Pregnancy Complications

2017- DNP Capstone: Autism Spectrum Disorder Provider Education Program. This capstone project culminated in dissemination of a live course CEU developed and delivered for RNs at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, NE
