General Background
Tara is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Nurse Practitioner. Tara has experience in critical care and adult cardiology. She is also a Certified Heart Failure Nurse through the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. She works casually as a nurse practitioner in the Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha.

Recipient of the Star Award for contributions to Nursing from Sigma Tau Tau Chapter in 2020. Recipient of the Nebraska Action Coalition's 40 under 40 award in 2012. Ruth Berggren Elliott Master Teacher Award Nominee in 2018 and 2020. Tara's professional activities include serving as the President for Nebraska Nurse Practitioners, and previously served as a committee chair for the Legislative Committee from 2013-2015; Director for the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses and previous Membership committee chair and Area Representatives committee chair; and President for Sigma Tau Tau Chapter. Volunteers with the Nebraska Methodist College Mobile Diabetes Center.
