Ms. Shaw-Warren is a nursing instructor at Nebraska Methodist College. She has been employed with the Nebraska Methodist Health System for 16 years. She currently teaches in the didactic and clinical portions of NRS 350, Community and Mental Health nursing. Ms. Shaw-Warren serves on the Faculty Senate as well as the Assessment team at Nebraska Methodist College. Additionally, Loretta teaches NRS 345 Public Health Nursing as well as assists with student immersion trips and works in the Nursing Arts Center. Ms. Shaw-Warren also is an Administrative Coordinator within the Nebraska Health System at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Her clinical experiences include all patient care areas of the hospital and she is currently working in her specialty area of mental health. Loretta is a consultant with the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) specializing in nursing live simulation and test construction.
Ms. Shaw-Warren's formal education includes earning a BA in Music from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, in 1987. She received her BSN through Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska, in May 1997. In May 2005, Ms. Shaw-Warren earned both an MSN in Nursing Administration and an MSN in Nursing Education from Clarkson College. While as an undergraduate and graduate student, Ms. Shaw-Warren received the Carolyn Scott award through the Nebraska Methodist Health System. Ms. Shaw-Warren is currently working toward a PhD in Public Health through Walden University.
Ms. Shaw-Warren's professional activities include membership in the American Nurse's Association, National League of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, international nursing honor society and Sigma Alpha Iota, international music honor society for women.
