General Background
Dr. Foley has been at Nebraska Methodist College since 1987. Her clinical nursing expertise and experience was in the area of labor/delivery as well as mother/baby. She began her teaching career at the college teaching undergraduate students in the area of maternal/child nursing. Dr. Foley envisioned and helped to create the present MSN program which began in 2000 as a face-to face program and transformed into an online program in 2004.
Notable Publications/Presentations
Dr. Foley has published in the areas of spirituality and presented throughout the years in that area as well as teaching/learning practices and evidence-based practice. She currently writes and receives grants to assist students in their tuition at the college. Most notable is the HRSA grant -NFLP (Nurse Faculty Loan Program), for those wanting to be nurse educators.
Professional Service/Recognition/Charitable Boards
Dr. Foley is a member of the Nebraska Assembly of Nursing Deans and Directors, Tau Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing, and an Honorary Alumni of NMC. She was recipient of the STTI Star Award for her contribution related to research and evidence-based practice. In addition she has received the Positive Image of Nursing Award and the American Gerontological Association Student Research Award for her dissertation.
