General Background

As a healthcare executive, Dr. Vremes currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at a refractive surgical practice. This is a key role that provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that proper operational and administrative controls, and human capital are in place to effectively grow the organization while focusing on financial strength and operational efficiency. Prior to this role, Dr. Vremes served as the Manager of Projects and Initiatives at an academic medical center. She led the project and capital planning function by organizing and prioritizing capital and strategic initiatives as well as providing project management oversight of initiatives in support of the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Being a lifelong learner, Dr. Vremes strives to instill the same passion for learning in colleagues by sharing her knowledge and insights. Dr. Vremes received her Master’s in Business Administration and Doctorate in Leadership from Creighton University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on dyad leadership in healthcare settings. Dr. Vremes is currently teaching graduate courses in healthcare finance, project management, and leadership.

In addition to her professional and academic career, Dr. Vremes is actively involved in the community. She currently serves as a board member for Heart Ministry Center and Sarpy County Museum. Dr. Vremes also participated in Leadership Omaha Class 40 and served as a Young Professional Council member through Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.
