Mrs. Steinhauser is an alumnus of Nebraska Methodist College. She returned to Nebraska Methodist College in 2008 after many years in working with the older adult in various settings. Much of her practice has focused on the Skilled and Long Term Care setting as staff nurse and manager. She is in the classroom/clinical setting teaching courses in Gerontological Nursing, Health Assessment, and Adult Medical Surgical Nursing.

Mrs. Steinhauser is a Fellow of the National Gerontological Nurses Association and has served on and been co-chair of national committees. She is a member and past Board Officer for the Nebraska Heartland Gerontological Nurses Association. She maintains her Board Certification in Gerontological Nursing. She is a member of the Tau Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau. In 2015 she was honored as one of the recipients of the March of Dimes 'Nurse of the Year' Award. She is also active with both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts serving as Camp Health Officer, leader, and volunteer at the local and national level.
