General Background
Lianne O. Stevens has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She is currently a Project Manager and the Security Officer for the Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII) which is the Nebraska statewide health information exchange (HIE). She works with hospitals, providers and payers to implement secure exchange of health information. As Project Manager, her duties include planning, testing and implementation activities related to the exchange of electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) with NeHII participants. In her Security Officer role, she is responsible for the organization's compliance with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act of 2009 (HITECH). Her security duties include coordination of access management, risk management, security incident management and security audit activities for NeHII.
Prior to joining NeHII, Stevens served as Vice President of Information Technology/CIO at The Nebraska Medical Center overseeing IT systems/services in a complex academic medical center environment.
Stevens' background includes operational experience in clinical laboratory management.
