NMC Welcomes Paul Savory, PhD, as VP of Academic Affairs

(OMAHA) - NMC President and CEO Dennis Joslin, PhD, announced that Paul Savory, PhD, has been named vice president of academic affairs.
In his new position, Savory serves as the chief academic officer for NMC and has oversight for all academic programs and courses offered by the college. Savory earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Oregon State University. He completed his doctorate at Arizona State University.
Savory is an experienced educator, beginning his teaching career as a graduate teaching associate at Oregon State in 1988. Prior to his appointment, Savory was professor of management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since starting at UNL in 1994 as an assistant professor in Industrial Engineering, Savory also served as interim associate vice chancellor for extended education and outreach, the director of summer sessions, and coordinator of the peer review of teaching project.
"Paul has a strong proficiency for assessing new situations, identifying critical issues, and formulating and enacting solutions within the mission and core values of Nebraska Methodist College," Joslin said. "His management experience will be beneficial to growing our academic offerings appropriately."
Savory has attended Harvard University's Graduate School of Education's Management Development Program. He was a highly recognized teacher at UNL and was named to the UNL Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2004.
In addition to his extensive experience in administering programs, projects and people, Savory has more than 20 years of experience in distance education. He has a strong record of helping organizations reduce costs while improving quality.
