New Student Checklist - Online Students
This checklist was created to help identify tasks that should be completed prior to starting at NMC in order to make your transition to NMC as smooth as possible. It may be helpful to print this checklist and mark each task as you complete it.
|Connect With Your Advisor >
Your advisor will be your point of contact throughout your time as a student at NMC. Keep your advisor's email and phone number handy. Watch for calls and emails with directions for orientation and registration processes.
|Complete the FAFSA >
In order to begin the process of determining your financial aid eligibility, you will need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Be sure to use the FAFSA website when completing the FAFSA. The federal school code for NMC is 009937. For more information on the financial aid process, visit the Financial Aid page.
|Registration For Classes
Your advisor will be in touch with you to help you register for your classes. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to your advisor to discuss with them.
|Background Check (Nursing Programs Only)
The Department of Nursing requires a background investigation by Verified Credentials to be in compliance with clinical agencies that you will use for your clinical practicum portion of the nursing program. You will receive an email from Crystal Lush, with a link to Verified Credentials to complete information needed for the background investigation.
|New Student Orientation
You will receive information from your advisor regarding orientation for online students. Please take the time to complete the orientation prior to starting your first course. Nursing students are required to complete a program-specific orientation. You will receive information and instructions for completing your Nursing Program orientation from your Program Director.
|Purchase Your Books >
Once registered for your courses, you may purchase your books through our online bookstore on our bookstore website. Health Care Operations Management students will be able to purchase e-books approximately one week or 7 days before the start of the course.
|Payment of Tuition & Fees >
Tuition and fees are due September 15th for fall; February 15th for spring; June 15th for all summer sessions regardless of the session start date. Payment arrangements are available and can be made in advance by contacting the Business Office. For your convenience, payments can to be made via your MyMethodist account, or by contacting the Business Office directly at 402-354-7105 or NMCbusoff@methodistcollege.edu
