CAMIO (Catalog of Art Museum Images Online) contains high-quality art images from around the world contributed and described by leading museums.

CINAHL: Cumulative Index of Nursing & Allied Health Literature indexes more than 3,000 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. Indexing and PDF backfiles date back to 1937 in some cases. This enhanced version of CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) offers access to nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals, and book chapters. Evidence-Based Care Sheets, Quick Lessons are some full text also available.

 

COCHRANE is an open Access outlet for searching Cochrane databases. NOTE: full text is not available from this site however the Cochrane Document number can then be used within Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews to obtain full text.

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews includes protocols and reviews prepared and updated by the Cochrane Collaboration review groups on the effects of health care. Reviews are available in both HTML and PDF formats. NOTE: single user site license means only one person can use this database at a time. Always remember to log-off when finished.

Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials is a database of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration and other experts, as part of an international effort to hand search the world's journals and create an unbiased source of data for systematic reviews. It includes reports published in conference proceedings and in many other sources not currently listed in MEDLINE or other bibliographic databases.

 

Cochrane Methodology Register is a bibliography of research and other articles that report on the science of research synthesis and other methodologies used in the conduct of controlled trials.

 

Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects includes structured abstracts of published systematic reviews on the effectiveness of health interventions around the world. It compliments the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews by providing access to quality reviews in subjects for which a Cochrane review may not exist.

Electronic Collections Online indexes scholarly journals in a variety of subject areas.

 

ERIC indexes and abstracts both published and unpublished sources on thousands of educational topics. All levels and types of education are covered. Some full text is available.

Global Library of Women's Medicine is a new open-access database designed to support clinicians with the latest therapeutic options in women's health care.

GPO Monthly Catalog includes records published by the Government Printing Office (GPO) since July 1976. It includes references to congressional committee reports and hearings, debates, and documents from executive departments.

Health Business Elite provides comprehensive journal content for over 600 journals detailing all aspects of health care administration and other non-clinical aspects of health care institution management. Topics covered include Hospital Management, Hospital Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Computer Technology, Facilities Management and Insurance.

Health Source: Consumer Edition provides full text articles, pamphlets, and book chapters on nutrition, exercise, medical self-care, drugs, alcohol, and more. Information provided in this consumer health database should not be viewed as a means of self-diagnosis or a substitute for professional medical advice.

• Clinical Reference Systems provides over 7,000 reports, in every-day language, describing symptoms, treatments, risks, and after-effects of a vast array of medical topics and conditions. Spanish records have been added. It is part of Health Source: Consumer Edition.

Health Technology Assessments provides details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical and economic implications of health care interventions) from around the world. The aim of the database is to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care. In addition to systematic reviews, HTA contains ongoing and completed research based on trials, questionnaires, and economic evaluations and is produced by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York, UK in collaboration with INAHTA Secretariat, based at SBU, Sweden.

 

MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's index to more than 5,000 biomedical journals, covering clinical medicine, dentistry, health care administration, nursing, nutrition, pathology, psychiatry, toxicology, and veterinary medicine. MEDLINE also indexes the pre-clinical sciences such as biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. Coverage dates from the 1950s to present and is international in scope.

 

 

MEDLINEplus is the National Library of Medicine's web site for consumer health information in English and Spanish. Content is provided for health topics, interactive health tutorials, drug information, current health news, dictionaries, directories, organizations, libraries, and databases.

A new collection, entitled Multiple Languages, has been added over 2,500 links to information in more than 40 languages and covers nearly 250 Health Topics.

National Guidelines Clearinghouse is a comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents designed to provide health care professionals a mechanism for obtaining objective, detailed information on clinical practice guidelines and to further their dissemination, implementation and use. NGC is an initiative of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

National Newspaper Abstracts abstracts and indexing for New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal, included with a subscription to Research Library or Discovery.

Natural Standard is an international research collaboration that aggregates and synthesizes scientific data to provide reliable, evidence-based information about  complementary and alternative therapies.

NHS Economic Evaluation Database assists health care decision-makers by providing information on the costs and effects of drugs, treatments, and procedures. Cost-benefit analyses are systematically identified, described, and appraised for quality while their relative strengths and weaknesses are explored and highlighted. NHS EED is produced by the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York, UK.

PsycINFO indexes a variety of materials, from 1887 to the present, in the field of psychology or dealing with the psychological aspects of medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business, and law.

PubMed Central (PMC) is the National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature, providing free access to the full text of articles. Although the articles are free, they are still protected by copyright.

Your Journals@Ovid offers full text access to the 61 titles that comprise the LWW Nursing and Health Professions Premier Collection (Ovid) and the 21 titles within the Ovid Nursing I Collection. Full text content is searchable word for word, cover to cover.

Wilson OmniFile Full Text Select is a full text-only database that contains a wealth of essential material for learning and research across the disciplines. Full-text articles are available from approximately 2,700 publications, many of which are peer-reviewed.
