CRRN (Rehab) Certification Exam Review

Target Audience:

This course is geared toward RNs, LPNs, Case Managers working in IRFs, SNFs, LTACHs, independent case managers, insurance and workers compensation case managers.

Course Description:

This course can serve as a review for the CRRN Exam but also will provide advanced knowledge in caring for the rehabilitation patient.

The two-day course identifies the rehabilitation nursing principles and concepts critical to the rehabilitation process.  It includes rehabilitation concepts designed to enhance patient outcomes.  The course includes an overview of nursing assessment techniques and interventions indicated throughout the rehabilitation process. Disease processes specific to the pediatric through geriatric rehabilitation population will be discussed.  Care issues for the patient with pain, neurological, pulmonary and musculo-skeletal disorders will be discussed.  Coping skills, elimination, communication and community re-entry issues will be integrated throughout the course.

Cancellation Policy: Program cancellations must be made no later than five working days before the program. After that time, a twenty percent processing fee will be assessed and the remaining balance will be credited for future program opportunities. Credits need to be used within a twelve month period. Transferring the registration to another person may occur without charge or penalty. Payment will not be refunded or credited to participants failing to attend.

Speakers:

Lisa Pervin, PhD, RN, CRRN

has worked in healthcare for 35 years and rehabilitation has been her specialty since 1979. She has taught in hospitals, large multi-hospital systems and small rural hospitals and has held positions as an educator, director, clinical manager and consultant. Teaching has always been a passion and she has helped many nurses over the years get their certification by taking her comprehensive rehabilitation nursing course. Students point out that Lisa is very knowledgeable, her teaching style is relaxed and she makes learning easy and fun. Lisa has presented at regional, national, and international conferences on a variety of topics from team building and communication to rehabilitation. She herself has been certified as a CRRN since 1984.
