Course Description

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this infant care training program is to provide guidelines for the assessment and stabilization of sick infants in the post-resuscitation/ pre-transport period.

Prerequisite: This course requires you to have reviewed book and take a pretest prior to the course. Please complete the pretest prior to taking the course and bring it to class.

  • The learner will be able to discuss the principles of hypoglycemia.
  • The learner will be able to discuss thermoregulation and the physiologic consequences of hypothermia .
  • The learner will be able to interpret blood gas results.
