To provide a forum that increases knowledge related to nursing care of the obstetrical patient.

Course Objectives:

  • Review the nursing assessment of a labor patient.
  • Review stages and phases of labor.
  • Demonstrate common obstetric assessment skills & assessments using models & simulation.
  • Review the use of internal fetal and uterine monitors.
  • Discuss nursing care of common complications in labor and delivery.
  • Describe the nurse's role in the assessment and management of the preterm labor patient.
  • Discuss nursing care of common complications in labor and delivery room.

In order to receive continuing education credit for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:
