Course Description

Purpose Statement:  The purpose of this program is to provide the learner with a forum for discussion and learning related to issues which affect obstetric departments and the manager's role.

Participants will be able to:

Identify the seven leading causes of pregnancy related mortality.

Discuss clinical changes to decrease the pregnancy related mortality rate.

Identify obstetrical clinical updates/ references from AWHONN, ACOG, AAP and other professional organizations applicable to the role of the manager in the community setting.

Discuss current obstetric issues affecting community hospitals and facilitate networking.
