Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS Renewal Course

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide the learner with information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest;  Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Physical Safety Training

The Physical Safety training session helps participants identify weapons in the healthcare environment and recognize personal readiness. Physical practices above and below the clinical ceiling will be described to give greater understanding of the defensive techniques learned. Participants will actively participate to build defensive skills and better understand safe methods for holding and manual redirection of agitated or disoriented people. Participants should dress comfortably so that movement is not limited.

The purpose of this program is to provide public health professionals with the information, skills, and resources that will enable them to advocate for opportunities to improve public health in their communities. Nebraska Methodist College Center for Professional and Continuing Education is providing Nursing credit, and has applied for CHES credit. Registration is through the Public Health Association of Nebraska.
