Course Description

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this infant care training program is to provide guidelines for the assessment and stabilization of sick infants in the post-resuscitation/ pre-transport period.

Objectives:

  1. The learner will be able to discuss the principles of hypoglycemia.
  2. The learner will be able to discuss thermoregulation and the physiologic consequences of hypothermia .
  3. The learner will be able to interpret blood gas results.
  4. The learner will be able to recognize the presenting symptoms and treatment of infection.
