This fetal heart monitoring course is for the novice health professional working with obstetric patients. It provides the basic principles and concepts in the physiology of fetal monitoring through documentation.
- Describe the physiological basis for fetal monitoring.
- Discuss instrumentation for fetal heart rate and uterine activity monitoring.
- Identify basic fetal heart rate patterns using the NICHD criteria.
- List intrauterine resuscitation measures including the rationale.
