Course Description

The purpose of this activity is to provide information regarding the effects of bariatric surgery on the body and lifestyle of the patient as well as providing safe and effective care for these patients.

Conference Objectives:

  • Distinguish various surgical procedures used in the surgical treatment of obesity.
  • Discuss current evidence-based practices for pre-op and post-op care of bariatric surgery patients physically, mentally, and emotionally.
  • Examine current best practices for managing complications following bariatric surgery.
  • Explore the benefits and challenges of bariatric surgery from the patient perspective.
