Course Description

This program is designed to provide the learner with information on current evidenced-based practices in bariatric nursing and tools to successfully complete the bariatric nursing certification examination.

Participants will be able to: 

•           Examine the disease and surgical management of obesity.
•           Explore current evidence-based practices related to nursing care of the morbidly obese and bariatric surgery patients and their families.
•           Discuss advocacy, support, education, and community resource needs and resources related to the morbidly obese and bariatric surgery patients.
