Nurse Faculty Loan Program

Thanks to funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Nebraska Methodist College offers the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) to help address the growing demand for qualified nursing faculty.

If you want to become a nurse educator upon completion of one of NMC's advanced nursing degree programs (MSN, DNP, or EDD), you may receive an NFLP loan to cover tuition, fees and books while enrolled part-time or full-time.

After graduating, you may qualify for cancellation of up to 85% of the loan principal and interest in exchange for four consecutive years as a full-time faculty member of an accredited school of nursing.

"Our aging population and changes in healthcare continue to escalate the demand for more nurses. We need nurse faculty to provide that education," said Marla Kniewel, MSN, EdD, RN, director of the MSN program. "The NFLP program provides the incentive and the financial support to recruit the professionals who will be charged with educating that next generation of nurses."

The NFLP is available to students from across the United States, which helps with the nursing shortage at the local, regional, state and national levels.
