John Moritz Library The John Moritz Library collects, preserves, and promotes the dissemination of information important to the education, clinical support, and research of its affiliates. NMC students and staff of Methodist Health System have access to all library services. Community members are welcome to use in-house library services or to check out available consumer health resources.
Resources H.E.A.R.T., the library's online catalog, lists the audiovisual, print, and electronic holdings, as well as the availability and location of each item. H.E.A.R.T allows you to search holdings in all our collections at one time. Online resources - Databases and electronic journals are available from your office or from home. Please provide as much detail for the citation as possible. We will provide assistance with citations that are incomplete. When submitting requests, please include your name, affiliation, department name, department code, phone number, deadline, and maximum cost per article. If you use the online request form, please use one form per item requested. Most items are received in 3 to 14 days, although some requests take considerably longer. Rush requests are accepted, but often cost more. You will be notified by phone or email when your items are available for pickup. Items are delivered through interdepartmental mail or emailed when requested. Do not submit rush requests on the online request form or via email unless you also contact us directly at (402) 354-7248. Loans may be subject to a charge. By submitting a request with a maximum cost other than free, you are agreeing to pay loan charges. Requests may be filled for FREE, though many cost $5 to $15. Rush requests may cost up to $30. The John Moritz Library abides by the U.S. Copyright Law and is a member of Copyright Clearance Center. Consumer Health Services Access to accurate, up-to-date health information is the right of every individual and is integral to quality health care delivery and education. Reliable health information is needed to guide decisions about personal health or the health of a family member or friend. In health care education, it is essential to increase student awareness of consumer health information resources, stressing the importance of health and wellness for themselves and for clients. We are committed to providing reliable health information and to creating collaborative instructional opportunities to meet the needs of NMC curricula.
