Step 1: Apply For Financial Aid
1. Apply to Nebraska Methodist College
We require that an application for a degree or eligible certificate program at NMC be on file prior to reviewing your financial aid application. The Medical Assisting Program is an eligible certificate program.
2. Apply for a PIN
Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for you and your parents (if applicable) at www.pin.ed.gov.
The PIN serves as your electronic signature on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If you had a PIN in the past but have forgotten or lost it, you can apply for a duplicate. To apply for a PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov. You usually will receive your PIN within a day.
Using your Taxes
We strongly recommend completing your (and your parents’, if applicable) federal income tax returns prior to completing the FAFSA. (The tax returns do not need to be mailed prior to completing the FAFSA.)
3. Complete the Financial Aid Application
The FAFSA is a free application from the U.S. Department of Education that evaluates your family’s income and assets. The Financial Aid Office uses this information to determine each student’s eligibility for grants (federal, state and institution) as well as for loans. A new FAFSA must be submitted each year (after you complete your tax returns) for the following fall, spring and summer semesters.
Complete the FAFSA. You can submit a new application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
If you are uncomfortable with submitting your application online, you can call the NMC Financial Aid Office for a paper FAFSA. It takes about two weeks for the College to receive the results of a paper application.
The code for Nebraska Methodist College is: 009937.
After submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will receive a Student Aid Report. If you listed Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) on your FAFSA (Title IV code: 009937), a copy will be sent to NMC. We will respond with an Award Letter.
In order to qualify for federal financial aid students must make satisfactory academic progress and not be in default on any educational loans or owe repayment on any educational grants.
