Community Partnerships
Welcome to the Center for Health Partnerships website at Nebraska Methodist College
The Center for Health Partnerships focuses Nebraska Methodist College’s community outreach in order to increase our impact on community health. By coordinating the outreach of service-learning courses and student groups, the Center works to direct basic health care and health care education to the underserved populations in the community.
Recognizing that those who have the least access to health care services are often the same groups that are underrepresented in the health care professions overall, the Center also works with community partners to provide educational opportunities and develop a health care career ladder for these same underserved populations. Together, these Center initiatives help NMC provide health care for the community, impact the social determinants of health and build a more diverse and community-focused health care workforce.
CfHP Vision: To partner with our community to have a sustainable impact on public health through outreach and educational programming.
CfHP Goals and Objectives: To work together with our community partners to:
1. Address health disparities by providing basic health care and health care education to underserved populations in the community;
2. Increase access to education by developing educational opportunities and health care career ladders for underserved populations;
3. Support the Educated Citizen Initiative, the core curriculum at NMC, by offering volunteer and educational programs which explore public health issues and trends in our community and nation.
