Immersion Trips
NMC alternative-break service immersion trips have been held since 2004. Typically, NMC offers three service immersions each year, which take place either during the fall break, winter break and spring break.
These experiences are intended deepen students' knowledge of community issues, build cultural competence and expand community. Each immersion is crafted around a particular health related topic.
If you're intersted in participating, fill out the Volunteer Opportunities form or click "Program Contact" below.
Program Details
The individual immersions are focused on a particular health topic or population. Students utilize the knowledge obtained through pre-trip gatherings to have a better understanding of the population and community being served. Students have the option to participate in the immersion as part of a required non-clinical elective option for their program of study. Upon return from the immersion, participants are encouraged to share their experiences and reflections with the NMC community.
