NMC Scholarships

Nebraska Methodist College assists students by providing scholarships for college based on academic performance, leadership potential demonstrated by participation in activities outside the academic setting, and service to the community or College.

Applications are available in the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices.

Current Students

Current NMC students are eligible to apply for the Merit scholarship, or to renew their current scholarship, when the online Current Student Scholarship Application becomes available between December 1st and the first Friday of the Spring semester in January.

Becker Presidential Scholarship

The Becker Presidential Scholarship provides an award of $8,000 a year for 4 years. This highly honored scholarship brings with it an important campus leadership role and responsibility. In order to receive the award for four years, the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.00 or above and assume a leadership role on campus. An interview is required. The scholarship is typically awarded to a freshman student applying for admission to a bachelor's degree program in nursing or allied health.

Must meet one of the three criteria:

  • GPA of 3.50 or above
  • ACT composite of 25 or above
  • Top 10 percent rank in class

Application Deadline:
January 15
Interviews will be conducted in January or February

Wischmeier Dean's Scholarship

The Wischmeier Dean's Scholarship provides an award of $5,000 a year for 4 years. In order to receive the award for four years the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.00 or above and assume a leadership role on campus. An interview is required. The scholarship is typically awarded to a freshman student applying for admission to a bachelor's degree program in nursing. 

Must meet one of the three criteria:

  • GPA of 3.50 or above
  • ACT composite of 25 or above
  • Top 10 percent rank in class

Transfer criteria:

  • GPA of 3.50 or above

Excellence In Allied Health Scholarship

The Excellence in Allied Health Scholarship provides an award of $5,000 a year for 2 years. The scholarship is typically awarded to an applicant for an Associate Degree program in Allied Health. In order to receive the award for two years the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.00 or above.

Must meet one of the three criteria:

  • GPA of 3.50 or above
  • ACT composite of 25 or above
  • Top 10 percent rank in class

Transfer criteria:

  • GPA of 3.50 or above

Horizon Scholarship

The Horizon Scholarship provides an award of $3,000 for one year. The scholarship is awarded to new undergraduate students who are in good academic standing.

Criteria:

  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • ACT composite of 20 or above

Transfer Criteria:

  • College GPA of 2.50 or above

Merit Scholarship

Current NMC undergraduate students who are in good academic standing are eligible to apply for the Merit scholarship each year when the online application becomes available between December 1st and the first Friday of the Spring semester in January.

Criteria:

  • College GPA of 2.5 or above

Achievement Scholarship

The Achievement Scholarship provides an award of $1,000 and is a one-time award. The scholarship is awarded to alternates for the Presidential Scholarship to recognize outstanding academic achievement. Awarded only with the Horizon Scholarship.

Dove Scholarship

The Dove Scholarship provides an award of $4,000 a year for two or four years. The scholarship represents the spirit of hope in pursuing and achieving the dream of a college degree. It is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and who may also be first generation students. In order to receive the scholarship for two or four years, the recipient must maintain a 2.50 GPA. Awarding decisions are made in consultation with the Financial Aid Office.

Kathryn Montgomery ACE Scholarship

The Kathryn Montgomery ACE Scholarship provides an award of $6,000 for one year. A selected and equal number of scholarships will be awarded each year to ACE applicants who demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA application or academic merit. The awards will be made by Oct. 1 each year.

ACExcel Scholarship

The ACExcel Scholarship was established to financially support individuals seeking to obtain a degree from our accelerated BSN program.  This is a $4,500 scholarship that is non-renewable. 

Criteria: 

  • Acceptance into the accelerated BSN program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Demonstration of financial need  

Graduate Nursing Scholarship

The Graduate Nursing Scholarship was established to financially support individuals seeking a graduate degree in the field of nursing.  This is a $3,000 scholarship that can be renewed.

Criteria:

  • Acceptance into a graduate nursing program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Demonstration of financial need
  • Disclosure of all tuition assistance

Applicants enrolled in an MHS Academy program are not eligible; applicants receiving 100% tuition assistance from other source(s) are not eligible.

Pathways Scholarship

The Pathways Scholarship was established to financially support individuals seeking a new career in the healthcare professions.  This is a $2,500 scholarship that can be renewed for a second year. 

Criteria:

  • Previous undergraduate degree(s), either at the associate and/or bachelor's level
  • Acceptance into an associate degree in healthcare professions
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Demonstration of financial need

Certificate Program Scholarships

Medical Assistant

$2,400 award toward tuition.  

Phlebotomy

$150 award toward tuition.  


Tuition Exchange

Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program
The scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the Council of Independent Colleges—Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents, spouses or employees from participating CIC colleges and universities. Please contact the TEP Liaison at your home institution for more information.

National Tuition Exchange Program
This scholarship is awarded to students entering Nebraska Methodist College under the National Tuition Exchange Program. This scholarship is applicable to dependents of employees from other participating colleges and universities.
