Purpose Statement:  The purpose of this class is to offer an advanced understanding of electronic fetal monitoring and discuss legal issues and risk reduction in intrapartum care. 

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify common areas of team failure related to EFM.
  • Describe and discuss a standardized, evidence-based approach to intrapartum FHR tracing interpretation & management of persistent Category 2 tracings.
  • List at least two risk reduction objectives achieved by the proper integration of standardization, communication and teamwork into perinatal care.

Also an attorney, she has a unique understanding of the impact of law on medicine and nursing.
