A course textbook is required for the medication aide class and is included in the above cost. You will receive the text on the first day of class.

Course Description

Course Description

Purpose Statement: To provide instruction for understanding the role and scope of work of the Medication Aide.

Course Objectives:

    1. Demonstrate basic competencies of the medication aide.
    2. Utilize appropriate methods for administering medications to the elderly.
    3. Describe and demonstrate other additional activities as they relate to the medication aide.
The course is designed to provide sufficient material and basic training for Medication Aides who are interested in working in Assisted Living, nursing facilities, and intermediate care facilities for the mentally handicapped (Nebraska Health Care Association,  Inc. 2010).

This course is a 40 hour evening and weekend course and attendance for all 40 hours is required.
Syllabus, course schedule and text are provided to the student on the first day of the course.

Certificate Information

Participants are provided with content and hands-on experience, which prepares the student to sit for the state licensing exam. No credits are offered for this program, but students will receive a certificate of completion.
