I have been teaching quite a while as an adjunct faculty member at NMC.  In fact, I realized that I was pregnant with my first child when I was teaching in the Health Promotion certificate program - she will be 17 on the 4th of July!  I obviously love teaching as I have been doing it for a while and have seen the Masters program transition from a traditional classroom to the online program it is today.

I have been fortunate to work in the field for my entire career - starting with managing a fitness center and aerobics program here in Omaha, then working at WELCOA, managing the health promotion program at Mutual of Omaha and now I am the Wellness Coordinator for the Educators Health Alliance (EHA).

The EHA is the health plan for the majority of the educators in the state of Nebraska - it's a large multi-site program that has been the most rewarding (and challenging) position I have held to date.  It is amazing getting to see people all across a state come together in an effort to help people get healthier - we are experiencing incredible results.

I have 3 children - my "almost" 17 year old daughter, a 15 year old daughter and my son who is 12.  I get to indulge my creative side around my kids' birthdays - since they were little I have created birthday cakes for them.  The plans for my daughter's birthday cake (at her request) include a 3-D cake of Mike Wazowski  who is a character from Monsters Inc.  I am finding as I parent teenagers that they are still kids some days while on others they act more like an adult than I do!  We are looking forward to a fun vacation this summer in Florida where we can all take a break and enjoy the sun and sand.
