General Background
Dr. Foley has been at Nebraska Methodist College since 1987. Her clinical nursing expertise and experience was in the area of labor/delivery as well as mother/baby. She began her teaching career at the college teaching undergraduate students in the area of maternal/child nursing. Dr. Foley envisioned and helped to create the present MSN program which began in 2000 as a face-to face program and transformed into an online program in 2004.
Notable Publications/Presentations
Dr. Foley has published in the areas of spirituality and presented throughout the years in that area as well as teaching/learning practices and evidence-based practice. She currently writes and receives grants to assist students in their tuition at the college. Most notable is the HRSA grant -NFLP (Nurse Faculty Loan Program), for those wanting to be nurse educators.
Professional Service/Recognition/Charitable Boards
Dr. Foley is a member of the Nebraska Assembly of Nursing Deans and Directors, Tau Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing, and an Honorary Alumni of NMC . She was recipient of the STTI Star Award for her contribution related to research and evidence-based practice. In addition she has received the Positive Image of Nursing Award and the American Society Association Student Research Award for her dissertation.
