Amy Clark, Ph.D., Named Dean of Health Professions

Amy Clark Dr. Clark will begin her duties as dean in January 2014.

OMAHA, Neb.  - Nebraska Methodist College Vice President of Academic Affairs Paul Savory Ph.D., announced that Dr. Amy Clark has been named the new Dean of Health Professions.

In her new position, Clark will oversee 19 undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in the health professions division. She will have responsibility for delivering an excellent educational experience on campus and online to students through leadership of faculty and staff, strategic planning, curricular quality and efficiency, program integrity, accreditation requirements, and student satisfaction.

"Dr. Amy Clark has many strengths that make her an excellent candidate for the Dean of Health Professions," said Savory. "Her experience working in the healthcare field and as a leader in education gives her a unique perspective necessary to remain nimble in the fast-changing industry we work." 

Clark is an experienced educator and healthcare professional. She joins Nebraska Methodist College from Clarkson College in Omaha, Neb. where she is an associate professor in the Department of General Education. Clark has held various positions and leadership roles throughout her time as an educator. Prior to her time at Clarkson, Clark, a licensed mental health practitioner (LMHP), served as a medical social worker providing counseling to patients at Methodist Hospital and University of Nebraska Medical Center beginning in 1999. 

"Healthcare is my passion and I enjoy working with students and faculty across many disciplines," said Clark. "I am excited to grow our existing programs and explore new educational opportunities that will benefit the NMC community." 

Clark received her undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1997, a Master of Social Work from University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1999 and her Ph.D. from University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2012. 

Clark will begin her role as dean in January 2014.
