Homecoming and Alumni Reunion 2017 Schedule

  • The week-long festivities hosted by Nebraska Methodist College include an evening at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, a 50-year Reunion Brunch celebrating the class of 1967 and a reunion dinner casino night dinner that includes a program honoring Spencer Stevens, chairman of the Nebraska Methodist Hospital Board.

OT program attains preaccreditation status

  • The NMC Master of Occupational Therapy program achieved the second major step to full accreditation last month when the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) voted to grant Preaccreditation Status to the program.

Six Omaha leaders join NMC Board of Directors

  • Nebraska Methodist College welcomed six new members to its Board of Directors this month: Chad Anglemyer, Cynthia Butler, John Ewing Jr., Ed Finan, Lee Handke and Greg Opseth.

NMC set to co-host community orientation on immigrants, refugees

  • Nebraska Methodist College will co-host with the College of Saint Mary on Tuesday, Aug. 15 an annual community orientation about the needs of immigrants and refugees in the Omaha community and on college campuses.

Carlson set to take over as head of Nebraska Methodist College

  • Dr. Deb Carlson is set to become the next president and CEO of Nebraska Methodist College on Aug. 1. The NMC Board of Directors unanimously selected her in January to succeed Dr. Dennis Joslin, who is retiring effective July 31 after a total of 41 years at the college.

NMC awarded $1.3 million Upward Bound grant

  • The Nebraska Methodist College Upward Bound Program has been awarded a $1,287,500 grant by the U.S. Department of Education. This is the third Upward Bound grant for NMC, which will receive $257,500 each year for five years.

NMC respiratory therapist lobbies in Washington, D.C.

  • Lisa Fuchs, Program Director for Respiratory Care at Nebraska Methodist College, recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to ask members of Congress to include respiratory therapists in any telehealth legislation introduced this year.

President Joslin Invited to Attend First Joint Higher Education Summit
