New Graduate Degree in Academic Program Administration and Leadership

OMAHA, Neb. - Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) announced the launch of a new, master's level program that is designed for busy healthcare professionals who have a passion for healthcare education and wish to advance their careers.
The new 16-month online program in Academic Program Administration and Leadership is for healthcare educators and program directors seeking a practice-oriented degree that develops the knowledge and capabilities to be an effective healthcare education administrator. The online courses are taught in a convenient 5-week format.
"Individuals who are in (or aspire to) an administrative position in healthcare education as a clinical coordinator, program director, dean, or senior administrator will find this program beneficial to their professional advancement and personal growth," said NMC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Paul Savory. "The curriculum provides the knowledge and skills needed to work as an educator and academic administrator in many different settings such as a college, university, hospital, or community agency.
Courses in the program will cover a number of themes, including educational theories and methodology, curriculum design, course and program assessment, issues and trends in higher education, leadership theories and application, external funding and grant writing, instructional design, budgeting and financial management, human resources management for higher education, and academic administration.
Stephanie LaPuma, Associate Dean of Health Professions, comments, "The coursework is structured to allow working professionals the flexibility to maintain their professional and personal lives as they advance their careers."
